Submission to Standing Committee on Health - LGBTQ2 Health in Canada
Members of the LGBTQ2[1] community in Canada experience important health inequities. Community Health Nurses work in a wide variety of settings in the community, interacting with and providing services to the LGBTQ2 clients. Based on this experience, and informed by research, Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) offered four recommendations for consideration by the Standing Committee on Health in addressing the unique and diverse health needs amongst the LGBTQ2 population as they strive for social justice and health equity.
[1] LGBTQ2 used in this document recognizing that different acronyms are used by different groups e.g LGBTT2SIQQAA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Two-Spirit, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Asexual and Ally)
