Commemorating the 2nd National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
Published on Friday, 30 September, 2022

Dear CHNC members,

Today marks the 2nd National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. We remember the children who never returned home and honour the survivors of residential and day schools. We recognize the trauma and the ongoing impacts of the legacy of the residential and day school system.

In addition to wearing an orange shirt, we urge CHNs to commit to one or more actions this year that helps you learn about the truth as we engage in a path towards reconciliation together. Perhaps you would like to take action personally, perhaps professionally. For example, you may want to reflect on how the truths impact your role as a nurse in your organization.

What action will you take?
